Ingredients:
1 block extra firm tofu
½ cup Liquid Aminos or tamari (tamari must be diluted with 1 part water)
2 tsp Onion Powder
2 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tbsp. Nutritional Yeast
½ cup Vegetable Oil or Soy Margarine
BBQ Sauce (add as much or as little as you would like)
Instructions:
Slice tofu ¼ inch thick. Marinate in liquid aminos, garlic powder, onion powder and nutritional yeast for at least 1 hour. Heat vegetable oil in the skillet. Add tofu and lightly brown on both sides. Transfer tofu to a baking dish and add bbq sauce (make it nice and juicy!). Bake for 10-15 minutes on 350 degrees – covered. Serve immediately.
*Note: It is not necessary to bake the tofu after you have browned it in the skillet. The baking process does enhance the flavor, but the tofu will be tasty either way.
*This recipe can be used to make great tasting sandwiches or served with brown rice or your favorite vegetable medley!
