{"id":309,"date":"2008-11-21T21:39:42","date_gmt":"2008-11-22T01:39:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.eyoungwon.com\/journal\/?p=309"},"modified":"2008-11-21T21:39:42","modified_gmt":"2008-11-22T01:39:42","slug":"hot-chocolate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eyoungwon.com\/journal\/hot-chocolate\/","title":{"rendered":"Hot Chocolate"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A \u00a0group of graduates, well established in their careers, were talking <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">at a reunion \u00a0and decided to go visit their old university professor, <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">now retired. <\/span><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">During their visit, the conversation turned to complaints about stress <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">in their work and lives. \u00a0Offering his guests hot chocolate, the <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">professor went into the kitchen and returned with a large pot of hot <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">chocolate and an assortment of cups -porcelain, glass, crystal, <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite &#8211; telling them <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">to help themselves to the hot chocolate.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">When they all had a cup of hot chocolate in hand, the \u00a0professor said:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;Notice \u00a0that all the nice looking, expensive cups were taken, leaving <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">behind the plain \u00a0and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">only the best for yourselves, \u00a0that is the source of your problems and <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">stress. The cup that you&#8217;re drinking \u00a0from adds nothing to the quality <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">of the hot chocolate. \u00a0In most cases it is \u00a0just more expensive and in <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you \u00a0really wanted <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">was hot chocolate, not the cup; but you consciously went for the \u00a0best <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">cups&#8230; And then you began eyeing each others cups.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Now consider this: \u00a0Life is the hot chocolate; your job, money and <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">position in society are the cups. \u00a0They are just tools to hold and <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">contain life. <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The cup you have does \u00a0not define, nor change the quality of life \u00a0you <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">have. <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sometimes, by \u00a0concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the hot<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">chocolate God has \u00a0provided us.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">God makes the hot \u00a0chocolate, man chooses the cups. The happiest people<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">don&#8217;t have the best of \u00a0everything. They just make the best of <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">everything that they have.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Live simply. \u00a0Love generously. \u00a0Care deeply. Speak kindly.
